Plans for a new 240sx/Silvia

Postby 240knight on Mon Jun 15, 2009 12:20 pm

For some years now I have looked this up for days to try and find any news, any video from a car show that Nissan is bring back the 240sx/Silvia. Every year its the samething. A Japanese mag. startes something and nothing is happening. Again I found something that said the same shit. They also have a pic of the "maybe" 240sx/Silvia.

When I think about it. I would really love to see a new 240sx out on the streets. But if it is anything like the car in the pic i would have to pass. This car has nothing going for it in looks. The 240sx has a nice sport car look.

How many of you guys would like to see a new Silvia????
How many of you guys think they should just leave the idea alone???
What would you guys like to see in a new 240sx - body and engine?????

I would like to see the s15 or kouki front come back on a small coupe with a turbo out the door !!!!

None of us would buy one...well, we would...but not until maybe ~8-10 years from now. ANd i think Nissan understands that the current S13/S14 enthusiasts ARE NOT buying new cars...so they aren't going to build a car that we like, but won;t sell.

There's no way they could do a decent 240SX follow-up, and not have it cost less that $25k for a base model. More like closer to $30k...otherwise, it'd steal away potential 370Z customers, and that's a no-no in the car business.

And considering that...why not just buy a 370Z?

...so, see...there already is a "S16", or whatever. The 370Z, while not an S-chassis...fits that slot.

...

OLD NISSAN: 240SX and the big brother, 300ZX

NEW NISSAN: 370Z and the bigg(er) brother, GTR

Reme, mber, the 300ZX TT used to be considered a 'supercar' of sorts, not unlike the GTR today.

good points there.
i have always seen the 350z/370z as a big brother to any old Nissan sports car

you also have a point about buying the new Silvia 8 or 10 years later :) . even with the worlds money problems it would make it a lot harder to sell.
i dont believe this is going to happen anytime soon, but a new s16 or s17 (whatever number it is on now) when be kool to think about

hell... they should just put the s13/s14 back into production with a few newer parts packages ya know? still be really cheap to make, they'd probably sell real well... and we'd all love it = ]

like Redesigned S13 / S14. nothing too fancy. maybe a turboed version of the Ka or stock Sr's. new suspension package. and a few new interior updates. hell they could keep it under the 25K without losing 370z audience cause it wouldn't have much power still... be a mod kinda car. i think it'd do pretty well.

it'd be cool as hell

Cool as hell, but I'm sure you won't buy it anytime soon..

Also.. that picture is old. May be new to you, but that picture came out last year. If you're going to start a thread like this one, you should at least post the most up to date rendering (LIKE THIS ONE)

well I would get a new 240sx if they made one but only if it didn't look like either picture up here for them... the top one is to boring and the bottom one looks too much like a mazda 3
